It's fringe to Fringe for kids in Nanakuli

The Nanakuli Performing Arts Center doesn't have a theater. It puts on shows in the school cafeteria. When the students travel to perform in Pearl City, they're thrilled to be on a real stage. Imagine what it will be like for them to perform in Europe. The call came last week. They had kind of given up already, thinking that invitations went out in April. But the phone rang Wednesday morning with the news that the students from Nanakuli High and Intermediate were invited to perform at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland next summer.

Micro Business Start –Up Classes February 15^th till June 1^st Every Tuesday Evening 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm *the classes are free only to those who qualify (i.e low and moderate income and they have to fill out a waiver form and provide verification)

Maili Point Trespass Notice

As a result of a letter of warning from the State Department of Health and the numerous community complaints, the Department of Parks and Recreation will be closing off Maili Point to the public effective Monday, July 19, 2010. Because this property is not an “active park”, although it is part of DPR’s land inventory, on July 19 “No Trespassing” signs will be posted which will restrict anyone from remaining in this area at all times. *Beach access or thoroughfare is still allowed*. However, once the signs are posted, HPD will begin enforcing the “No Trespassing” law and people will not be allowed to linger or remain in the area; they can still pass through.

Small nonprofits reminded to file with IRS by May 15

HANO and the National Council of Nonprofits have been working closely with the IRS to keep small nonprofits informed about the impending deadline for nonprofits that have not filed an annual return in the past three years.
